R GROUPS?

Are you looking to build real connections with other believers? The good news is R Groups are here.

R Groups is the small groups ministry of ResLife. Whatever you love to do, whether it’s hiking, motorcycle riding, game night, playdates with other young families, discussion groups – whatever it might be for YOU, we will help you find your people and grow together. If you don’t see a group that works for you, consider starting a group! If you have questions, check out the FAQs below.

Activity-based:

Walking, biking, golfing, crocheting, gaming, book club, gardening, young family play dates, civic interests, motorcycle riders, photography—the sky’s the limit

Bible study:

Use an approved curriculum or simply dive into the Bible together

Ministry-based:

Inspire each other in ways to reach your neighborhoods, prayer groups, mentoring new believers, whatever you can think of

What is an R Group?

R Groups are groups of three or more people who gather regularly based on interests and other criteria.

Why R Groups?

Smaller group settings allow for relational needs to be met, growth that benefits every area of your life, not just your church life, and for our church to be the church for one another in the highs and lows of life.

Who can participate?

R Groups are for people 18 years and older, but can include group members’ children as the group rules allow and while supervised. I.e., a family life group of parents with younger children is acceptable. However, we do not facilitate groups for only teens or children.

Where do R Groups meet?

R Groups can meet in homes or public places; however, R Groups do not meet inside the church.

How long do R Groups last?

Each R Group is required to have an end date. Some groups may meet weekly for weeks, and some may meet monthly for the school year. However, having an agreed upon end date helps the leader and participants choose a group that will work for them, and then an easy opportunity to reevaluate what’s working or if it’s time to try something else.

How do I start an R Group?

If you do not see a group that meets your needs, consider starting one. You just need to have two other participants and a ResLife Grandville pastor to approve the group.
